The Outer Banks is home to a variety of locally owned coffee shops that everyone loves. You can find everything from freshly roasted coffee and hot tea to delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch options.

  • Duck’s Cottage Coffee & Bookshop
    • Located in: The Waterfront Shops at Duck 
    • The Duck’s Cottage Coffee & Bookshop features fresh coffee, which is carefully brewed with beans from an artisanal roaster, specialty, espresso drinks, pastries, biscotti, nutrition bars, East Coast and local newspapers, puzzles, greeting cards, children’s toys, souvenirs, and a thoughtfully curated selection of books.

  • Ashley’s Espresso Parlour & All Time Coffee Roasting Co. 
    • Located in: Kill Devil Hills 
    • Ashley’s Espresso Parlour and All Time Coffee Roasting Co. is a small-batch coffee roaster with espresso drinks, specialty lattes and frappuccinos, and drip coffees as well as scones, muffins, cookies, croissants, bagels and cream cheeses, and kids’ milkshakes and hot chocolate. The coffee beans are selected from fair trade and organic farms as much as possible. In a beautifully designed setting with artwork, Ashley’s Espresso Parlour features a top deck with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Front Porch Cafe
    • Located in: Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Manteo 
    • Founded in 1999 as a passion project, Front Porch Cafe was the first small-batch roasted coffee shop on the Outer Banks. The coffee shop sources coffee from small independent farmers around the world while prioritizing sustainability and organic farming techniques as often as possible. Front Porch Cafe serves thousands of customers annually. It can be found in local stores and restaurants as well. In addition to coffee, you can find treats like bagels and baked goods.

  • Morning View Coffee House & Roastery
    • Located in: Nags Head 
    • Morning View Coffee House & Roastery is a locally owned and operated coffee house on the Outer Banks. Dedicated to fair trade practices and sustainability, they roast coffee beans on-site in Nags Head while supporting small-scale farmers around the world. In addition to fair trade and organic coffee and tea, their bakery features delicious pastries and bagels.

  • Charis Coffee Company
    • Located in: Manteo (two locations) 
    • Opened in October 2017, Charis Coffee Co. is an organization dedicated to more than coffee, but people. Every month, they donate a portion of their profits to a cause they believe is making the world a better place. Beyond coffee and tea, they carry delicious pastries and bagels, smoothies, hot chocolate, nutrition bars, and more.

  • Outer Bean Cafe
    • Located in: Kitty Hawk and Duck 
    • A coffee shop, juice and smoothie bar, and quaint cafe prioritizing healthy choices, Outer Bean Cafe offers coffee as well as an assortment of healthy smoothies, bagel sandwiches and paninis, pastries, artisan-crafted sandwiches, desserts, and more. They also offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
